The Lost Interviews – George Jones

I got a call from George Jones wanting to be on my WIVK midday radio show. He was scheduled to be at a Knoxville nightclub that night and there were rumors that he wasn’t going to show. He wanted to address that on air. During the interview we talked about all the Country Music Awards he was nominated for and we discussed how He Stopped Loving Her Today came to be. Later that night I went over to the club to MC his show and I sat with him on his bus for an hour, just me and him.
